COMMUNITY Riverbend is pleased to be a part of the Shoals area, and we have strived to forge strong partnerships with local schools, governments, health agencies, businesses, and organizations. Our goal with these partnerships is to educate the citizens of Northwest Alabama about mental health issues and to provide them with the best possible mental healthcare should the need arise. Riverbend works closely with law enforcement and the judicial system. The Community Mental Health Officers (who are appointed by the Probate Judge and are law enforcement officers) have received training from Riverbend and are involved in emergency services. Riverbend provides services for the local Drug Court and as been actively involved in efforts to establish a Mental Health Court. Riverbend is an active participant in the local Children's Policy Councils. Cooperative agreements with other service agencies allow Riverbend to provide outreach mental health services in their facilities including many local nursing homes and schools.
