Child/Adolescent programs

Outpatient Counseling

Riverbend provides services on an outpatient basis to those children and adolescents who present with psychiatric, adjustment, substance use, and behavioral problems, which require diagnostic evaluation and/or treatment.

Individual, family, and group therapy are offered to children and adolescents in addition to psycho-educational groups. Treatment may include coordination with family, schools, physicians, and other agencies as appropriate.

Riverbend also has agreements to provide In-School counseling services by master’s degree staff in local schools.

Outreach Services

The FIND Team Program uses a time-limited 16-week model to impart intensive home-based services to children, adolescents (5-17 years) and their families. The primary purpose of this service is to prevent out-of-home placement, defuse an immediate crisis situation, and to stabilize the family unit of the consumer.

Case Management services are designed to link consumers with necessary community support systems when the consumer is unable to do so in order to improve their chances of recovery and successful community living.

Preschool

Riverbend provides a preschool day treatment program designed for children ages two through five who display characteristics of emotional conflict, behavioral, psychological, and/or educational difficulties.

Riverbend treatment for preschool children participating in this program includes behavior modification programs, family therapy, parent education, as well as socialization and recreational activities.

Summer Programs

The Summer Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Program is a structured psycho-therapeutic program of Riverbend Center for Mental Health designed for children ages 6-14 years old who display characteristics of emotional conflict, behavioral, psychological, and academic difficulties.

Substance use Programs

Substance use treatment services and intensive therapeutic interventions provided to adolescents designed to initiate and promote the consumer’s ability to: 1) maintain a drug free lifestyle, 2) decrease criminal behavior, 3) increase adaptive behavior in the school setting, and 4) increase healthy family interaction. Services are provided in a non-residential treatment facility.

Riverbend also provides an aftercare program for adolescents who have successfully completed our outpatient program. For the dually-diagnosed adolescent, psychiatric services are available as appropriate from Riverbend's psychiatric services program.
